Dr. Yu Fujita graduated from the Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, in 2007 (M.D.). Following his clinical internship, he joined the lab of Dr. Takahiro Ochiya, a global pioneer in the field of extracellular vesicles (EVs), at the National Cancer Center Research Institute as a Research Resident from 2012. He earned his Ph.D. in Medicine from the Jikei University in 2015, specializing in RNAi drug delivery research.

From 2015 to 2018, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at UCSD and the Sanford Burnham Institute in San Diego. Upon returning to Tokyo, he focused on the field of EVs in lung biology as a physician-scientist. In 2020, he became a Principal Investigator (PI) of the Exosome Drug Development Research Lab in collaboration with industry partners at the Jikei University. Since October 2023, he has been appointed an Associate Professor in the Next-Generation Drug Discovery Research Division at the Research Center for Medical Sciences, the Jikei University School of Medicine. In 2024, he co-founded EVerMed to promote his science.

After earning a Master’s degree in Organic Synthetic Chemistry from Waseda University, he began his career at Fujifilm Corporation in 1989. Over his tenure, he transitioned from a research chemist to a product development project manager, eventually leading recruitment and pharmaceutical business strategies. This diverse corporate foundation paved the way for his leadership as Secretary General of the Forum for Innovative Regenerative Medicine (FIRM), where he became a key figure in Japan’s regenerative medicine ecosystem.

A serial entrepreneur since 2016, he co-founded Regcell Inc., an immune cell therapy startup, alongside Nobel Laureate Dr. Shimon Sakaguchi. This was followed by the launch of NanoSuit Inc. in 2019. Beyond his own ventures, he has been instrumental in the founding and financing of over ten startups. In 2024, he co-founded EVerMed with Dr. Yu Fujita, leveraging his extensive industry expertise to revolutionize EV-based therapeutics.

After earning his M.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Gifu Pharmaceutical University (2000), he built a distinguished career at major organizations including Kanebo, Pfizer, and Takeda Pharmaceutical (2007–2017). His extensive background also includes key roles at BI Medical, Hamamatsu Pharma Research, and Rena Therapeutics.

Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to advancing complex drug modalities. At our company, he leads the performance evaluation of Extracellular Vesicle (EV) formulations, preclinical development, and clinical trial preparation. He plays a pivotal role in bridging foundational EV research with transformative clinical applications to deliver next-generation therapeutics to patients worldwide.

Dr. Takeo Urakami is Director of Corporate Strategy at EVerMed, leading corporate development to accelerate next-generation therapeutics. He earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Shizuoka and completed postdoctoral research at Sanford-Burnham Institute. He has built his career in the biopharmaceutical industry across the United States and Japan, advancing multiple drug discovery programs to clinical candidate stage.

He began his career at Taisho Pharmaceuticals and later held roles at Otsuka Maryland Medicinal Laboratories, Inc and VLP Therapeutics, followed by Director of Biology at Modulus Discovery. At Kyushu University Open Innovation Platform Inc., he led venture creation and cross-border partnerships, contributing to startup formation and deal execution.

After completing his studies in molecular biology, Masaya Suzuki dedicated his career to researching diverse cell types and various cultivation methodologies at several cell therapy biotechs. Beyond his technical expertise and skills in cell culture, he has acquired extensive experience and knowledge in GMP-compliant manufacturing, including the management of clinical-grade cell culture procedures and facility operations.

At EVerMed, he plays a pivotal role in the scale-up research of cell cultivation and extracellular vesicle (EV) manufacturing, which serves as the foundational cornerstone for the company's future.
